### Feature Request: Fixed Map Scale and Printing Layout Support in QField
#### Summary
It would be very helpful if QField supported fixed map scale (e.g. 1:5000, 1.2000,...) display and allowed exporting or printing map images with accurate scale directly from the device. This feature is essential for forestry, surveying, and land-use planning professionals working in the field.
#### Problem
Currently, QField allows navigation and data collection, but:
  • It does not show the current map scale clearly.
  • It does not allow locking or fixing the map scale (like QGIS layout mode).
  • There is no built-in functionality to export a map layout or screenshot at a known scale for reporting or printing.
As a result, users must return to QGIS desktop to generate any printable, scaled map – which reduces QField’s field autonomy.
#### Proposed Solution
  • Add an
option to display the current map scale
    on the interface (e.g. 1:5000).
  • Allow
    locking a map scale
so that users can pan without zooming, maintaining scale integrity.
  • Option to
export the current view as a scaled image (PDF or PNG)
with metadata or a small layout frame (optional).
#### Use Case
In forestry projects, field users need to capture maps at fixed scale (e.g. 1:5000 or 1:10000) to:
  • Verify boundaries
  • Document fieldwork
  • Submit reports to authorities
Having this directly in QField reduces office work and increases data accuracy and efficiency.
#### Environment
  • QField version: [ 3.2.0]
  • Android version: [Android 12]
Thank you for this amazing app! Looking forward to your feedback.
